A report by CJC Consulting has concluded that the forestry sector (including management, harvesting, timber processing, recreation/tourism and deer/game from forests) contributes just over £1 billion of Gross Value Added (GVA) to the Scottish economy annually, whilst supporting 28,000 full time jobs in Scotland (which is about 1.5% of the total full time jobs in Scotland – the majority of which are in remote rural locations).
